Activity Points All Day

Yesterday I burned 525 calories during my run. My goal though is to burn 700 calories 5 days a week so that I burn the equivalent of one pound a week from working out. I suggested to my husband that we go and throw around the lacrosse ball for a little bit to burn some more calories. We hadn't been out since a ball went astray and gave me a black eye.
We played for about 20 minutes and then decided to go play at the playground.
I have no idea how I was able to do all the things I use to do when I was little. We have all obviously lost tons of muscle mass since our playground days. The monkey bars killed my hands and I was only strong enough to make it across one or two bars at a time. Hopefully soon I will be able to do them.
We had tons of fun though and burned extra calories. We made it an obstacle course and had a blast. Remember that you don't have to be running or at the gym to get in some activity points. We also went swimming 2 different times today. Every little thing adds up.
Best of all I find that I am so much less hungry on days when I get activity in. I am not sure if it is because I am busier or exactly why but its a nice feeling to have multiple points left at the end of the day. (Don't do this everyday though it may result in your body storing fat because it thinks you are being starved.)
Do you do any out of the box things to burn extra calories?

  1. I love the play ground idea for moms. That's awesome. I have horses and do quite of bit of "work" with them. Riding, scooping out stalls, toss hay bales ... it all adds up!

I'm also a whole lot less hungry on active days. I think though it's because I'm busier and not bored and then wanting to stuff my face.

Either way, it's a good thing!

    Congrats on doing so well!

  2. Do you use a heart monitor to find out how many calories you burned?

  3. Dancing with or chasing my kids outside are always fun. 700 calories a day is a big goal but I'm sure you can accomplish it!
