If you are having a rough day but had planned on running just focus on getting out there. If you aren't able to do your planned run then at least you know that you tried. Most of the time though it is just a matter of showing up.

I have had a few days already where I barely made it to the trail but once I got there I was so happy that I showed up. My last run I hadn't properly fueled for the day and it was a hot bright day. I only made it 2 out of the planned 4 miles but I was glad that I had at least tried.
Good tip. I need to remember that!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. Getting there is half the battle, and quite honestly, it's the hard half. So many times, I find myself planning to walk/run/excercise and then end up finding a reason not to. I really have to work on that, and remember to just show up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder.
You are definitely right. I read in a running mag once, "I never regretted going for a run, but I've always regretted not going for one." Which I try to remember on rough days. On days I skip it--I'm always sitting on my couch later, totally angry with myself.
ReplyDeleteHey! Check out the treadmill cardio workout I made for the days I dont want to run the whole time! I think you'll enjoy it!!

Those days that are the hardest to get out there and just run...Those are the days when running feels the best.
